"CARE CLOSE TO HOME"
"fear not illness, this place of care, love and hope is for you "

In 2012, Arkansas Children's Hospital (ACH) celebrated 100 years of providing CARE, LOVE and HOPE to the sick and injured children of the world. Originaly established as an orphanage in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1912, Arkansas Children’s Hospital is the only pediatric medical center in Arkansas and is today one of the largest in the United States serving children from birth to age 21.  Children are the mission of ACH, recognizing that caring for children is different than caring for adults and it is completely committed to improving children’s lives by offering the best in well-child care as well as emergency medicine and acute care to restore and sustain the health of all children.

The private, nonprofit healthcare facility boasts an internationally renowned reputation for medical breakthroughs and intensive treatments, unique surgical procedures and forward-thinking medical research, all dedicated to fulfilling its mission of enhancing, sustaining and restoring children’s health and development. The Arkansas Children’s Hospital physicians are consistently recognized for their outstanding performance and achievement in taking care of young patients and are consistently listed on Best Doctors and Top Doctor lists locally and nationally.

Arkansas Children’s Hospital also serves as the pediatric teaching affiliate of University of Arkansas School for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and is home to the Department of Pediatrics. Arkansas Children’s Hospital is the classroom where medical students study the pediatric component of all disciplines. In turn, UAMS shares its current medical breakthroughs and technological advancements. The UAMS faculty on the Arkansas Children’s Hospital campus include practicing physicians as well as teachers to UAMS students in medicine, nursing, pharmacy and allied health.

On February 27, 2018, Arkansas Children’s (Little Rock), expanded its footprint into Northwest Arkansas, opening Arkansas Children’s Northwest Hospital, marking the first time that pediatric emergency medical services have been available in the NWA region with a pediatric emergency department. The pediatric hospital brings specialty care closer to home for the more than 200,000 children living in and around Northwest Arkansas.

Arkansas Children’s Northwest joins a flagship hospital in Little Rock, a state-wide transportation network dedicated to delivering children in critical condition to life-saving care, and a range of outreach programs that include telehealth, mobile health, and school-based health solutions.
